Virtual Sunday School and Bible Study

As you know the Corona Virus has prevented us from physically meeting Sunday School temporarily.  The Bible study, fellowship and care given in Sunday School and/or small groups isn’t something we should abandon now.  I have been thinking about ways to do Sunday School virtually. Here are some ideas:

  1. Use an app such as Facebook video chat or Zoom to connect to groups of your class members in a virtual Sunday School class for Prayer, Bible Study, and encouragement.
  2. Use the phone to reach those who don’t have a computer or smart phone.
  3. If you are in an adult class that uses the Explore the Bible literature and do not have access to a printed quarterly send an email with your email address to me at ppatten27@comcast.net and I will send you links for each week’s lesson until we can meet again. For those who have their quarterlies continue to use them. I suggest setting some time each week to read the focal passages and the study material. I also encourage you to visit other class members by telephone or email. I would also suggest meeting in virtual classes using apps such as the Zoom app and Facebook Chat.
  4. For those parents with children in grades K-5 here are instructions for accessing the Sunday School Materials we are studying:

Each Friday, new Sunday School content will be available for kids and preschoolers, including video content, Kids and Preschool Activity sheets, and One Conversation Sheet.

All parents will need to do is log in to Digital Pass, (https://digitalpass.lifeway.com/on-demand/lifeway-kids-at-home/) and the content will be available under the “Watch Now” section. There is no need to enter a redemption code.

Rom 15:4(ESV) For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

I suggest setting some time each week to read the focal passages and the study material whether you use the Lifeway studies or other Bible studies. I also encourage you to visit other class members by telephone or email. I would also suggest meeting in virtual classes using apps such as the Zoom app and Facebook Chat.
