Randall was born and raised in Oakwood Georgia. After graduating from high school he went to work for General Motor where he spent the next thirty years. About a year before he retired from GM, God laid on his heart to go back to school. In 2005 at the tender age of 45 he enrolled in college at Leavell College of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Two years later he accepted a call into the ministry and in August of 2007 was ordained at Hopewell Baptist Church where he served as a lay person for several years. The very next week after he was ordained, First Baptist Church Oakwood called him as their Youth Pastor which ended up being some of the greatest years of his life in ministry. After serving there for almost four years God laid on his heart to move to New Orleans to finish his degree at the main campus. Five months later Randall graduated with an Associate in Christian Ministry and was awarded the Outstanding Student of the year Award. He wasted no time moving back to Georgia to be near his family and children thinking he would never go back to New Orleans again. Randall says: “little did I know one year later God would give me a desire to move back to New Orleans to finish my Bachelor’s degree. While living in New Orleans I had the honor to serve on staff as an Intern at Metairie Baptist Church under Dr. Strong. In May of 2014 after attending college nine years I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Art in Christian Ministry. I am so grateful to God for this accomplishment”.
After graduating college God laid on his heart to return to First Baptist Church Oakwood and serve as their Pastor of Senior Adults. “It was a blessing to serve on staff with such great men of God for that time of ministry in my life. In January of 2016 God begin to call me back to Louisiana. I first thought it was to do a Masters at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, but a few months later God called me to Live Oak Baptist Church in Montegut LA to be their Interim Pastor. Now that I can look back in time I realize that only God could have ask me to leave my family, my home and my church to do His work in Louisiana. Following Gods call to Live Oak Baptist was one of the greatest blessings of my life. Loved every minute I served there and will never forget the loving and kind people I served with”.
After serving at Live Oak five months, his former Pastor, Myles Brown of First Baptist Oakwood texted him and asks Randall to pray about the ministries at Oakwood in 2017. “When I got the text I wasn’t sure what to think until I talked to him a week later and he told me someone had donated a year’s salary to bring me home and put me back on staff. I teared up and was filled with joy as I realized God was sending me back home to serve at my home church where I grew up and love so much”. Randall goes on to say: “God is doing a great work in our church and it’s such a blessing to serve in a church that God is moving in the hearts of His people to get things done. Currently, I serve at First Baptist Church Oakwood as their Missions and Evangelism Pastor and I consider myself blessed and highly favored to be able to serve the Lord and do what I love for the rest of my life”.
“There is no doubt in life God gives us many wonderful gifts, but by far the greatest gift is my family (of course that’s besides my salvation). God has given me two beautiful children Tabitha and Toby who I love dearly and who are the apple of my eye. It was such a blessing watching them grow up into the adults I had hoped and prayed they would become”.
Some of Randall’s favorite things to do are: Drinking coffee while watching deer walk around in his yard, working-out, walking, going to movies, going out to eat, traveling and hanging out with his children.
